ABOUT ME

I'm a student in UOW KDU Malaysia currently studying Game Design!

I'm in my third year now and will be graduating soon after internship.

I also do freelance manga translations!

If I'm not busy working on school projects, then I'm off typing away on personal projects.

MY SKILLS

  • Familiar with documentation on Google Docs, Microsoft Excel, Powerpoint, Word

  • Familiar with creating simple assets on Adobe Photoshop 

  • Familiar with creating simple prototypes and levels in Unreal Engine 4 and Stencyl

 

Can communicate well with team as well as higher ups, and act as intermediary in between to ensure each and every member of the project team is well-updated on any and all changes and announcements.

My Final Year Project that's currently still in development. We were given the opportunity to form our own teams to freely plan and create a game within six months.

Take on the role of an alien explorer, making his way through the ruins of an ancient alien civilization in search of their mythical infinite power source.

Roles & Responsibilities

Designer

  • Help with coming up with initial concepts and subsequent revisions

  • Help with improving UX of Player and Drone Bot (Player-Drone-Relations)

  • Help with initial level design and puzzle design

Assistant / Admin

  • Planned and coordinate weekly meetings with the lecturer in-charge for all Final Year Project teams

  • Created schedule for said weekly meetings on a weekly basis

  • Acted as intermediary between my team and the lecturer in-charge for any questions or problems

Gundam Themed Beat 'em Up

One of the assignments given to us for our Game Genre Studies subject. We were given a specific genre and was tasked with creating a game based on that.

Play as a Gundam of your choice and fight your way through hordes of enemies whilst racking up your score!

Roles & Responsibilities

Game Designer

  • Decided on the theme 

  • Designed additional mechanics as well as the base mechanics needed for the genre given

  • Documented weekly changelogs and playtest feedbacks 

Artist

  • Created the background and sprites from existing sources and edited with digital photo manipulation in Photoshop

Programmer

  • Created the game in Stencyl from a basic template and added additional mechanics as well as implemented the assets

Part of my second Game Project Studio subject. 

I was the 2nd designer in the team and mainly helped out with designing and documenting the units in the game. This ranged from their concept and looks to their skills, stats and abilities.

Managerial work for the project included managing the Gantt chart for the team as well as maintaining communications with the lecturers in charge.

Part of my first Game Project Studio subject. 

I was the lead and only designer in the team and performed tasks ranging from designed work and managing the team.

I was in charge of the overall design of the game, such as the core concept, gameplay, as well as player and enemy's attack patterns, stats, skills, etc.

Managerial work for the project included managing the Gantt chart for the team as well as maintaining communications with the lecturers in charge.

A game-jam project done with a team of four designers. We each had an avid love for japanese culture and thus set off to make a simple japanese-themed game with the easiest resouce we had available at the time.

I was mainly in charge of the overall gameplay, from the concept to the effects of each tiles as well as the balancing.
